Captain Pouliot grew up in Bath, Maine — the City of Ships — and went on to Maine Maritime Academy before building a career spanning clean product tankers, crude oil carriers, RO/RO vessels, bulk carriers, seismic survey vessels, ocean-going tugs, and multi-year offshore oil and gas projects. He has served as Master, Mooring Master, and Marine Superintendent, and holds an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance.
Working across those vessel types and operating environments shaped a well-rounded perspective on marine operations, safety, regulatory compliance, risk management, and the practical challenges faced by crews and operators at sea. Safe and efficient operations come down to more than regulations and equipment — they require experience, sound judgment, and the willingness to find practical solutions when things don’t go according to plan.
